One-to-one and group tutoring

Tutoring shaped around the student in front of us.

Altivate offers one-to-one and group mathematics and science tutoring. We begin with the student’s actual course and goals, then pair clear instruction with study habits they can keep using long after the next test.

Launch offer: 50% off your first one-to-one session or attend your first eligible group session free. Ask about formats and availability in your free consultation.

A good fit when

The student needs clarity, structure, or momentum.

Tutoring can address an urgent course problem while also building the methods and confidence needed for longer-term progress.

  • A student is confused by how material is explained at school
  • Grades or confidence have started to slip
  • A test, exam, or university prerequisite needs focused preparation
  • The student understands pieces of the course but struggles to connect them
  • Study habits and organization are getting in the way of academic progress
  • A motivated student wants more depth, challenge, or a stronger foundation

How scheduling works

Start with a free consultation so we can understand the student’s goals, recommend the right format, and confirm a suitable time. Group sessions depend on students working at a similar course level and compatible availability. If ongoing support is a good fit, optional semester packages can be discussed after the consultation.

How payment works

Once the session is confirmed, you will receive a secure Square payment link. Payment is required before the session. No recurring charge is created unless you explicitly agree to one, and applicable cancellation or rescheduling terms are provided before payment.

Prices are in Canadian dollars. The exact rate depends on the subject, course level, tutoring format, preparation required, and group size. Each new student may receive 50% off their first eligible one-to-one session or attend their first eligible group session free. Group placement, final rates, and any optional semester package are confirmed before payment.

Private learning space

A private learning space families can follow.

Once a tutoring student has an account, we create and assign modules matched to their course and goals. Lessons can bring together practice problems, study references, videos, and guides that reinforce the clear methods used in tutoring sessions. This is individual learning support, not a group-course package.

Student access

An organized place to revisit assigned lessons, resources, practice, homework, and progress between sessions.

Secure family connection

A parent can link their account with their child’s through a secure invitation and family sharing controls.

Current parent view

When progress sharing is enabled, parents can check the student’s latest published-module and lesson progress in their dashboard.

Tutor direction

The assigned modules can change as the student’s course, priorities, and tutoring plan evolve.

How it works

A simple process that adapts as the student grows.

01

Talk through the goal

We discuss the course, current challenges, schedule, and the result the student wants to work toward.

02

Set a focused plan

Early sessions identify the most important knowledge gaps and establish clear priorities for instruction and practice.

03

Learn and practise

Lessons combine clear explanations, worked examples, guided questions, and independent problem solving.

04

Review and adjust

The plan changes as understanding improves and new assignments, tests, and course demands appear.

No pressure, no preset package
